Mumbai: Tata Communications has announced the acquisition of a 51% stake in Commotion Inc., an AI-native Enterprise SaaS platform with operations in the US and India.
The move strengthens the company’s strategy to accelerate AI integration across its Digital Fabric and enhance its Customer Interaction Suite, including Tata Communications Kaleyra platform.
Tata Communications Acquisition Accelerates AI Deployment
The acquisition aims to integrate Commotion’s AI orchestration engine with Kaleyra’s ecosystem – spanning channels, the Kaleyra TX Hub, and CCaaS – to automate and intelligently steer customer journeys.
This integration is designed to transition enterprises from reactive customer interactions to predictive and generative engagement.

Commotion’s platform supports global enterprises through three core capabilities:
- Omnichannel CX Automation for real-time, data-led and hyper-personalised engagement
- Voice AI solutions leveraging ultra-low latency speech-to-speech AI
- Autonomous Digital Agents that operate as intelligent, compliant, policy-aware AI entities for internal and external enterprise functions
The platform merges Voice AI, Agentic AI Builder, and Omnichannel Journey Orchestration, enabling enterprise-wide automation and personalised engagement at scale while strengthening digital support operations.

By integrating Commotion into its Digital Fabric, the Tata Communications Acquisition significantly advances the company’s ambition to become an AI-first organisation.
It reinforces existing initiatives aimed at helping enterprises transition from pilot-level AI usage to scalable, mission-critical transformation.

The acquisition will be executed through a cash-based Stock Purchase Agreement on a fully diluted basis.
